Questions we are asked

Short, factual answers to the questions U.S. buyers most often ask about compliance-first African market entry.

“Africa is too risky.”

Country risk is real. It is also manageable when compliance runs first. Palanca Bridge de-risks African transactions through screening, diligence, verification, and institutional-grade documentation — under U.S. governance, from the first conversation through closing.

“You are a boutique — do you have capacity?”

Yes. Two principals under one U.S. governance framework, delivering through vetted, licensed local partners contracted per engagement. Capability, not presence, sized to the mandate, not the org chart.

“How do you charge?”

Advisory fees only. Four modes: fixed-fee productized SKUs, phased fixed-fee engagements, monthly retainers, and value-anchored pricing for defined premium deliverables. No commissions, no success fees, no transaction-based compensation.

“Do you have people on the ground?”

We work through vetted, licensed local partners contracted per engagement under U.S. governance. We name an individual local partner only when the relationship is current, contracted, and consented. Capability, not presence.

“Do you lobby or handle government access?”

No. Palanca Bridge does not lobby, does not represent foreign governments, does not offer government access, and does not conduct FARA-registrable activity. Our institutional briefings are analysis from public information and general expertise only.

“Do you do CFIUS?”

No. CFIUS navigation is outside our legal perimeter. Where a transaction involves CFIUS review, we work alongside licensed U.S. counsel who lead that workstream.

“How do you handle DRC?”

DRC is an Active market on a compliance-first basis, governed by a four-gate protocol, sanctions and PEP screening at scoping, beneficial-ownership disclosure at engagement letter, client-funded compliance uplift on state-owned-enterprise nexus, and defined walk-away criteria. No DRC partner is named publicly until first-mandate diligence is complete.
